CeliaB x Alja Horvat

Alja Horvat collaborated with CeliaB on her 2020 collection. She created various colourful textile prints for Celia’s clothing collection.

This is the first pattern we worked on for this collection, but it started out completely different. I later used the pattern we worked on first for my stationery collection, because Celia was looking for something more elegant, and I’m so glad I started from the scratch because this print turned out amazing! I did two colour versions (different backgrounds) and I can’t decide which one I like better. Below you can also see the sketch I sent to Celia for approval and I later worked with this sketch to add colours and finalise the pattern.

This one is one of the more simpler patterns from the collection, inspired by the psychedelic prints but with a modern twist. The first colour version was the right one and we later added the pastel version and I must say, I prefer the latter. This is one of my faves patterns from the collection and I love how Celia used it. I love how this print looks mixed with the print above. I’m absolutely in love with the first dress and it looks so good with the pastel colour version. The sketch for this pattern was actually created in Procreate and I later only added the colours to the black and white outline sketch.

This is the simplest print I ever created and it was created in mind to be mixed with other prints, but it looks so good on it’s own. It’s one of my faves and Celia made the best of it. There are three different colour version and colours that were used should mix well with other prints that I created for this collection. Since the whole collection is based on flowers, we also wanted to do a simpler flower pattern and I came up with the idea of flowers as symbols being repeated.

This print is basically a mix between the psychedelic (marble) print and flower print. Created in four different colour variations with additional polka dots in the marble sections. I absolutely love what Celia created from it and how she mixed it with monochromatic flower patterns below. This one was absolutely the hardest one to do and it also took me the longest to get it right. I also mixed the print with polka dots.

This is my absolute favorite from the collections and I love how simple, yet complex it looks. Created in four different colours variations and I can’t decide which colours is my favorite. This is the second print I worked on for this collection and I’m so happy with how it turned out.
