Ljubljanske Mlekarne x Alja Horvat
Alja Horvat collaborated with Ljubljanske Mlekarne on their project Mummetnost.
Mummetnost is all the beauty of free grazing and all the goodness of the milk that is created in the meantime. To make it easier to understand, they equipped the cows from the Na Kalu farm in Idrijske Krnice with GPS collars to draw samples of their paths. They showed the patterns to artists to create their own genuine art by interpreting the patterns cows created.
You can see the exhibition in gallery ex arte at Židovska ulica 5 in Ljubljana till 6th of December.

Each artist working on this project received a 7-day gps path of their cow and their path was the inspiration
for their art. Each day has it's own colour, so you could see where she moved each day.
INSPIRATION BEHIND THE ART
I always need a day or two to think about ideas before I start working on a project. The first idea I had when looking at the Šipka trail was to choose different colours and flowers for each day of the trail and thus show her trail.
One of my first associations was a cup with a cow motif, the retro one my grandmother has that
was very popular in Yugoslavia. This inspired the nostalgic touch the illustration has.
